Sand Tiger Shark Fun Fact

Look closely at the sand tiger sharks in the "Ocean Beyond the Sound" exhibit. Their snout and jaws are covered in tiny holes. These are receptors for the sharks' "sixth sense" – their ability to detect bioelectric fields emitted by other animals (including potential prey).

See a rare black dragon, one of only 31 black dragons in the United States and the only one on public display. Our newest exhibit challenges visitors and students to understand myth in terms of science, presenting real animals that may have inspired mythical ones.

The Maritime Aquarium is conveniently located just off of Interstate 95 in Norwalk, CT. Go green with a trip on Metro-North Railroad. We are a 15-minute walk from the South Norwalk station.
