"We've taken a few educational boat trips over the years but yours was by far the best all-around experience. The highlight had to be the breadth of sea life we pulled up and investigated, interacted with and, of course, learn about."

Sand Tiger Shark Fun Fact

Look closely at the sand tiger sharks in the "Ocean Beyond the Sound" exhibit. Their snout and jaws are covered in tiny holes. These are receptors for the sharks' "sixth sense" – their ability to detect bioelectric fields emitted by other animals (including potential prey).

LEGO® Weekend

Dates:  Jan. 27-28

Time:  10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Help LEGO® experts create an enormous Aquarium-themed scene using everyone’s favorite building blocks during “LEGO Weekend!"

Throughout the weekend, LEGO experts from Play-Well TEKnologies will engineer a big fun project made entirely out of LEGO blocks in Newman’s Own Hall (near the seals). The experts will create the scene, but it needs animals! Aquarium guests can build a small LEGO marine creature that will be part of the finished piece, or create pieces of their choosing.

Look for additional LEGO-focused activities in the Aquarium during the special weekend.
