"We've taken a few educational boat trips over the years but yours was by far the best all-around experience. The highlight had to be the breadth of sea life we pulled up and investigated, interacted with and, of course, learn about."

Sand Tiger Shark Fun Fact

Look closely at the sand tiger sharks in the "Ocean Beyond the Sound" exhibit. Their snout and jaws are covered in tiny holes. These are receptors for the sharks' "sixth sense" – their ability to detect bioelectric fields emitted by other animals (including potential prey).

Other Educational Programs

Starting in September, we will be offering programs for homeschool students including a marine biology series and single science programs.

In our Field Programs, we'll meet you at a local beach for exciting explorations of the intertidal habitat. Crabs will be found!

We also can bring special Aquarium programs, displays and activities to your school through Traveling Teacher opportunities, including the opportunity for a series of after-school offerings.

And don't forget our memorable study cruises out onto Long Island Sound ... especially aboard our new research vessel R/V Spirit of the Sound.
