"It's all within an easy walk of the [train] station too – including The Maritime Aquarium, the one relatively new building in the group and the one that enables grownups to enjoy browsing and shopping while still entertaining the children."

– The New York Times

Visit the Aquarium

Sea Star Fun Fact

Try not to call these cool shoreline creatures "starfish." Sea stars aren't fish, so the proper name is "sea star."  (Similarly, call them jellies, not jellyfish.)

Hours of Operation

The Maritime Aquarium is open from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. every day of the year, except Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. (Also please note that we close early ... at 3 p.m. ... on Thanksgiving Eve and Christmas Eve days.) From July 1 - Labor Day, we stay open until 6 p.m. daily.

Please click on the "Visit the Aquarium" tab for general information to better plan your day. That page includes special information for Handicapped visitors, best time to avoid crowds, how weather affects our visitor experience, considerations for Senior Citizens, how long it takes to visit and more.

In case of inclement weather, this website may not always communicate the latest information about delayed openings or early closings.
