"We've taken a few educational boat trips over the years but yours was by far the best all-around experience. The highlight had to be the breadth of sea life we pulled up and investigated, interacted with and, of course, learn about."

Sand Tiger Shark Fun Fact

Look closely at the sand tiger sharks in the "Ocean Beyond the Sound" exhibit. Their snout and jaws are covered in tiny holes. These are receptors for the sharks' "sixth sense" – their ability to detect bioelectric fields emitted by other animals (including potential prey).

Sensory-Friendly Morning

Date:  Sun., Jan. 7

Time:  8 a.m. - noon

For some, the Aquarium is a place with too many stimuli. So we're offering special mornings to give guests with sensory-processing differences a fun, comfortable and accepting environment. We are also opening two hours early each morning and offering two special IMAX® movie presentations.

During "Sensory-Friendly Mornings," the Aquarium will open at 8 a.m., allowing exclusive Aquarium access prior to the 10 a.m. public opening.

From 8 a.m. to noon, lights in the Aquarium will be lower, and music and other sounds will be turned down or off. There will be a sensory-friendly seal feeding at 8:30 a.m. A designated calming room will be available. Educators will offer special activities and tactile opportunities. And you can enjoy IMAX movies shown with lower volume and the theater lights less dim (movie details coming soon!)

For families that need to leave within the first 30 minutes, passes will be available to come back and try again another day.

Pricing on this day is the same as always. Details here
