Sand Tiger Shark Fun Fact

Look closely at the sand tiger sharks in the "Ocean Beyond the Sound" exhibit. Their snout and jaws are covered in tiny holes. These are receptors for the sharks' "sixth sense" – their ability to detect bioelectric fields emitted by other animals (including potential prey).

Join us for a fun morning you’ll always remember! After a hot breakfast in the Cascade Café, your family will make the rounds with Aquarium staff as the aquarists & educators feed an amazing assortment of hungry animals.


Take a turn feeding the turtles, horseshoe crabs and rays. Enjoy a private feeding of the harbor seals. Best of all, go above the "Ocean Beyond the Sound" exhibit to watch as ... just below you ... our big sharks IMPRESSIVELY snap fish off an aquarist's feeding pole! (You can toss in some fish to the sharks too!)
